VISIT ‘A’ - EMEL - Empresa Municipal de Estacionamento de Lisboa
EMEL is the public company responsible for the management and enforcement of the parking bays and some parking lots in the city of Lisbon. In addition, EMEL manages the traffic in the old boroughs of the City. In this visit, you will be able to understand how the parking works in the city of Lisbon, namely, the tariff system, the enforcement practices and other initiatives to curb the illegal parking. Of particular interest, it is the intelligent transport system controlling the access of vehicles to the old boroughs.
Visit duration: around 120 minutes | Number of visitors: 20 maximum


VISIT ‘B’ - BRISA Auto-estradas de Portugal SA
BRISA was created in 1972. In four decades it has become one of the largest tolled motorway operators in the world and the largest transport infrastructure company in Portugal. Currently, BRISA operates more than 1200km of highways in Portugal, and it has interests spanning the United States and Northern Europe. In this visit, you will visit the Operational Coordination Centre (OCC) of BRISA. The OCC controls a set of 451 cameras, 44 meteorology stations, 300 traffic sensors and 164 variables message displays. The ultimate purpose of the OCC is to improve the safety and capacity of the highway network.
Visit duration: around 120 minutes | Number of visitors: 45 maximum


VISIT ‘C’ - CARRIS
CARRIS is the public transport operator in the city of Lisbon. It was founded in 18 September 1872. Nowadays, CARRIS has 2766 employees (at 31 December 2008), 1692 drivers and 163 breakemen that ensure the circulation of a fleet composed of 745 buses, 57 trams, 3 funiculars and 1 elevator. The fleet is installed with a global positioning system and the bus stops with variable massages display. In this visit, you will visit the Operational Coordination Centre (OCC) of CARRIS. The OCC controls the fleet on real time aiming to ensure the maximum efficiency of the operations.
Visit duration: around 120 minutes | Number of visitors: 20 maximum


VISIT ‘D’ - REFER - Rede Ferroviária Nacional EPE
REFER is the public infrastructure manager of the Portuguese railways. REFER is the responsible for the construction and the maintenance of the infrastructure, and the management of the railways' capacity. In this visit, you will visit the Operational Coordination Centre (OCC) of REFER. The OCC controls the Portuguese railway network on real time.
Visit duration: around 120 minutes | Number of visitors: 25 maximum


VISIT ‘E’ - Grupo Luis Simões SGPS
The Grupo Luis Simões SGPS (GLS) is one of the largest logistic and freight transport operator in the Iberian Peninsula. It manages a fleet of over 2000 trucks and more than 15 logistic centres. Besides freight transport operations, the GLS also provides a wide range of logistic services, such as: warehousing, cross-docking, picking or packing. In the visit you will have the change to visit the newly opened Logistics Centre of GLS. This logistic centre is fully automated. All logistic operations are controlled by automatic devices, remotely controlled by computers and supervised by human operators.
Visit duration: around 150 minutes | Number of visitors: 25 maximum

BRISA - Autoestradas de Portugal

BRISA was created in 1972. In four decades it has become one of the largest tolled motorway operators in the world and the largest transport infrastructure company in Portugal. Currently, BRISA operates more than 1200km of highways in Portugal, and it has interests spanning the United States and Northern Europe.

RAVE- Rede Ferroviária de Alta Velocidade SA
RAVE is the public company responsible for the development and coordination of works and studies conducing to the planning, construction, financing and exploitation of the high speed rail network in Portugal and its connections with other European countries. RAVE was established in the year 2000.

EFACEC Capital SGPS SA
EFACEC is the largest Portuguese Group in the field of electro-mechanics. Its portfolio of activities includes: transformers, high and medium voltage switchgear, service, engineering solutions and services, automation, environment, transport and logistics. Nowadays, EFACEC employs around 4800 people and has a volume of orders that already exceeded 1000 million euros, being present in more than 65 countries.

INIR - Instituto de Infraestruturas Rodoviárias IP
INIR is the Portuguese road infrastructure regulatory body. INIR ensures the deployment of the Portuguese Road Plan and it aims to guarantee the efficiency, equity, quality and safety of the road infrastructures, and the rights of the citizens. INIR supervises the management and exploration of the Portuguese road network and it enforces the law in the provision of the concessions and sub- concessions.
